Best Web Host for July www.studentwebhosting.co.uk marks 82/100

1. The major let down for this host is their prices, their lowest priced package is £30 for a year which compared to other hosts is quite high. They do however say you get what you pay for and they use the latest cPanel with fantastico. Unfortunately this doesnt warrant the price in our eyes. A mark of 10/20

2. Being cPanel, The control panel is easy to use, unfortunately to sign into your account you have to remeber which server your site is currently being hosted on (you are informed by email - and you can request to be told again by email if you forget) but this is something which the comapny should sort out soon. A mark of 17/20

3.We have not had a single hack since we have used the company (over 3 years) this is quite remarkable, of course we cannot guarentee the security of sites on another hosts servers, but so far Student web hosting get top marks for security. A mark of 20/20

4. One of the few companies on the net who do not claim to have 100% uptime* and actually prove their current uptime* ratios. Currently 99.5%. It would be impossible for any company to have 100% uptime because if they did - you should be asking them "when was the last time they updated their security on the servers?" A mark of 20/20

5. Excellent service, very courtious and they always have kept to their reponse times targets. Unfortunately that isnt what blows our mind at savannah where we pride ourselves on knowing what service is all about and so we have been a little harsh on this mark. We havent yet found a company which beats 15/20 and so for customer sevice this is the best host around!. A mark of 15/20
